Him; Now

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…

(Matthew 6:10)

Often I daydream of Heaven. My eyes have been blessed to see just some of His creative beauty here on earth, yet I can only attempt to imagine the marvelous landscapes and vistas that await us. To think- not a tear, not a broken heart, no illness, no injustice, no hate and a place, a state of perfection.

I quickly turn my thoughts to Him. He will be there! Jesus! How I start to yearn and desire to sit by Him and hear Him speak, to take in His scent and remember it forever.

But then the phone rings or the alarm goes off and I have to get back to “reality.” The day becomes a blur of here and there’s, did and didn’t do’s, etc.

Keeping His kingdom in the forefront of our minds changes the way we live and act.

We need His love to be on display; His gentleness to be expressed. His kindness, long-suffering, patience, and forgiveness. We need it to apply to our lives and we need it to impact His kingdom.

The person you sat next to on the bus this morning, did you talk to them? The lady who handed you your coffee, did you recognize her? The security guard or doorman that greets you every morning, did you acknowledge him? The homeless man at the gas station begging for change, did you SEE him? These are our neighbors here and could and should be our family in His Kingdom.

I pray you take Him with you today, everywhere you go. Let Heaven encourage and motivate you to be His light right now, right where you are.

I pray we encounter Him and His kingdom, now.

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…(Matthew 6:10)

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)
